Battleverse Champions: Arena Soft Launch 1.0 https://tenaciousentertainment.com/news/battleverse-champions-arena-soft-launch-1-0/ Wed, 27 Oct 2021 21:32:57 +0000 https://tenaciousentertainment.com/?p=910 Welcome champions!

Today we have some exciting news to share with all of you. We are very excited to announce that we have now soft-launched our new game Battleverse Champions: Arena worldwide on iOS! This new version of Battleverse Champions will be purely focusing on competitive play via a variety of changes and brand new additions. https://linktr.ee/battleversechampions

Competitive Focus

A large shift within Battleverse Champions: Arena has been to really focus on what makes a great competitive experience. A lot of changes that you’ll see in this new game will reflect that. One major change you may notice immediately is that all abilities for all of the champions are unlocked from the get go. You’ll no longer have to purchase or unlock abilities, putting everyone on an even playing field giving access to create any build you want. Along with this, we have also removed the store from the game. Everything is unlockable and can be earned by playing, no Pay-to-win here. All cosmetic upgrades will be unlockable using our in game currency Glory instead, which is earned by completing challenges and matches! You’ll notice these types of changes and more throughout the game!

Powered by Skillz™

Over the past several months you’ve probably noticed we have been silent on the development front, but we been eyeballs to screens in the studio on tons of new things and big ideas. Tenacious has partnered with Skillz™, an online mobile multiplayer video game competition platform, and we’ve been hard at work on this new version of the game since last spring, and its finally here! Below we discuss many of the changes we’ve made that allowed us to bring you Battleverse Champions: Arena and really push the game to be more streamlined, engaging, and honed in on the core competitive and skill based experience.

Score Attack & Game Modes

In this version of the game, we have focused on creating a brand new game mode to launch the game with called Score Attack. This is a new competitive game mode where you battle against a series of champions while wracking up a high score! This is a head-to-head match up against another player to see who can achieve the higher score!

  • 2 minute battle against a series of champions; gain 15 seconds bonus time for each champion defeated!

  • Don’t worry if you are defeated, you’ll respawn shortly afterwards until you run out of time. This goes for enemy champions too! When an enemy champion is defeated, a new one will spawn to challenge you!

  • Various hazards, powerups, and bonus score bots will spawn throughout the match.

  • Earn score by dealing damage, defeating champions, picking up powerups, and more! Watch out though, you can lose score for taking damage or being defeated.

  • Try and earn a higher score than your opponent, the one with the highest score will win! We also keep track of your personal best score so you can try to one up yourself.

Right now Score Attack will be the core mode we soft-launched with, but we’ll be adding more as we go. The next mode in development is a  1 vs 1 face off in a best 2 out of 3 rounds against another player. Those of you who played the original Battleverse Champions will be familiar with this mode. Let us know what you think of Score Attack or what other game modes you’d like to see added to the game!

Prize Competitions

Down the road we’ll be featuring prize competitions provided by Skillz™. We’ll provide you all with an update once these begin happening, so stay tuned and make sure you’re following our socials!

 Android Coming Soon

All of this is just the beginning. We’ll have more announcements soon such as the release of the release of the android version of Battleverse Champions: Arena, be on the look out for it!

 A Thank You…

We want to sincerely thank everyone, new and old, for being with us on our continued journey to bringing new and epic life to the mobile gaming world! To all of those that have played our games early stages, liked our posts, provided feedback, or just simply saw our content. THANK YOU SO MUCH! MORE IS COMING, SO GO GET IN THAT ARENA!

See below for each champion’s basic attack ability details.

Additionally, the loadout UI during matches has been altered to allow for basic attack without adding clutter and maintain ease of ability use, check it out below.

Eventually, after many lifetimes of experiences Dyn decided to find the one thing it never discovered in its travels: another nebula being. To that end, it joined the Battleverse Games, the first energy being to do so. Through the fame it earns in the ritual combat of the arena, Dyn hopes to finally experience that which has eluded it for so long: family.

Dyn is a close-ranged offensive elementalist which preforms devastating electric and sound wave attacks. Debuting with 19 abilities for dozens of unique builds, champion specific trophies, and it’s own bot-doppelganger Dyn is bringing a fun new dynamic to the Battleverse Arena. Make sure to follow us on Instagram for a Dyn showcase this Friday, April 9th!

New game modes: Free For All & Battle Ball

We’ve add two new game modes to the Battleverse Arena! You can access both of these new modes via the game mode select menu.

Free For All

As the name suggests, 4 champions will descend into the arena, and only one will leave. It’s every player for themselves with 2 respawn chances and the only goal is to be the last one standing! Set in the Oasis map champions will enter from 4 corners in a seek-and-destroy fashion, utilizing clever loadouts and capturing power-ups to dominate their opponents.

Battle Ball

Also taking place on the Oasis map, the Battle Ball will spawn in the center and your goal is to hold the ball for the longest period of time. Holding the ball will increase the damage you take by 3% per second, and slow your movement speed by 1.5% per second. While you can attack and defeat other champions while holding the ball, it’s ultimately up to you to decide how you’ll prevail!

Updated UI

    • New and vastly improved game-mode select menu to get you in the arena quicker.
    • New versus intro and outro screens where you can check out your opponents load-out tooltips in an easy to digest way.
    • New end of match screen will now display a Glory & XP breakdown and introduce a rewards spinner for a chance to get ability packs.

‘Try It’ feature

Brand new to the Battleverse is our “Tri it” feature, which allows you to try any champion’s full range of abilities directly from the ability menu or the training gym. Mix and match to find your best load-out combos before you spend your hard earned Glory. To access this feature from the training gym tap the in the top right corner of the screen, then drag and drop your preferred abilities into your load out. You can tap and hold to read each ability’s tooltip. To access this feature from a champion’s ability menu, tap an ability then tap the ‘Try” button on the right.

Queue with a friend

We are we well on our way to developing an integrated ‘Friends’ system and the first stop has arrived. Now you can share auto-generated codes with your friends to team up to dominate other champions or against them to settle a grudge match! Now available via the game mode select menu you can choose to host or join a game. Hosting will provide you with a code to give to your friends, and joining will let you enter one to join.

Hugo is giving the thumbs up sign next to a grouping of faceless figures representing friends. The text above reads join a friend, while the text below reads join a friend's lobby by entering their lobby code.

Powerups

We’ve added a whole new twist to the arena, champions! Now during your battles new buffs will spawn that can give you a competitive edge, but be quick because your opponent will also be on the look out for that upper hand. During each round 2 random powerups will spawn at 10 seconds, 1 at 30 seconds, and 1 at 50 seconds. Standing in the capture circle for 2 seconds will capture the powerup, but if another champion stands on the same powerup, progress will stop. If your opponent manages to knock you off, your claim progress will be reversed. Once you claim a powerup, it will be displayed above your champions head until it wears off.

There are 5 possible powerups that can spawn, and they stack with your champions similar effects!

Damage Increase: Increases damage done by 30% for 10 seconds.

Damage Reduction: Reduces damage received by 30% for 10 seconds.

Movement Increase: Increases movement speed by 30% for 10 seconds.

Cooldown Reset: Resets the cooldown of all abilities currently on cooldown.

Super Charge: Grants 50% super ability meter.

Standings: Daily Win Leaderboard

Introducing the first iteration of Battleverse Champions’ leaderboard system: standings! Accessed from the main menu, you can now show the world your skill and earn Glory by battling opponents and climbing the ranks. Your rank is determined by the number of wins in the casual game mode for that day. You will receive rewards based on your rank when the leaderboard is reset. Compete with your fellow champions and show your dominance!

Daily leaderboards will reset at 12:00AM (00) UTC.

Rewards can be claimed the following day

Go ahead, don’t be shy, show off your main!

New tutorial

We have updated our tutorial for all new accounts, we hope this new tutorial will provide a much better experience for new players to quickly and seamlessly learn the game mechanics, depth, and complexity available in combat. Existing players will start near the end of the tutorial, teaching you the new power-ups feature, and all accounts will now have Nika’s Rapid Fire ability unlocked. Enjoy!

Bug Fixes

  • Fix to not show store notification dot if there are no ability packs on first install.
  • Fix to not overwrite foil ability selection on fetch. (this bug was submitted by a player, thank you!)
  • Fix to show trap and illusion healthbars. Additionally, sometimes training dummies health bars would not show and this has also been fixed.
